Eligibility
Qwen AI Build Day is open to developers, startups, builders, students, and technical teams who want to build practical AI solutions.
Participants may join individually or as a team, subject to the final team-size rules set by the organizers.
All participants must register through the official event channels and comply with Devpost’s terms, the event rules, and the organizer’s instructions.
Event Day Attendance Requirement
All teams are required to attend Qwen AI Build Day on 21 April 2026 in person, or send at least one official team representative.
Teams that are absent on event day and do not have a representative present will be disqualified.
On the event day, the Top 10 shortlisted teams for each track will be announced. Only shortlisted teams will earn the opportunity to pitch live to the judging panel.
Project and Submission Requirements
To be eligible:
- the project must be submitted on time through Devpost
- the project must align with an official challenge track
- the submission must include the required materials
- the team must clearly explain how Qwen and/or Alibaba Cloud technologies were used
- the project must be original, or clearly disclose any pre-existing work, open-source components, or third-party tools used
- the team must attend the event day, or send at least one representative
Prizes
There will be 1 Track Winner for each official track. Track Winners — USD 1,000 each
1. Track Winner — Mobility Track by Tasco — USD 1,000
In addition, the winning team(s) for the Open Mobility Challenge will receive USD 10,000 seed investment (awarded to up to 3 high-potential teams). The winning team for the Learning & Development Challenge will receive a USD 2,000 POC contract.
2. Track Winner — Financial Services Track by Shinhan Future's Lab — USD 1,000
In addition, the winning team will receive priority consideration for up to VND 200,000,000 in PoC funding per startup, awarded for successful PoC outcomes through Global Shinhan InnoBoost 2026.
3. Track Winner — Healthcare Track by Elfie — USD 1,000
In addition, the winning team will receive consideration for a poc contract of up to VND 1,000,000,000 (scope-dependent), plus 3+ job contract offers for standout builders.
4. Track Winner — Public Sector Track (Government) — USD 1,000
Additional partner awards, ecosystem opportunities, or showcase opportunities may be announced by the organizers if applicable.
Judging Criteria and Winner Selection
Projects will be evaluated based on:
- problem relevance — does the project solve a real and meaningful problem?
- quality of solution — is the product clear, usable, and logically designed?
- use of AI — is AI meaningfully integrated into the solution?
- use of Qwen / Alibaba Cloud — does the team effectively use the supported technologies?
- execution — is there a working prototype or convincing demo?
- pitch clarity — can the team clearly explain the product, the user, and the value?
Up to 10 shortlisted teams for each track will be invited to pitch live on the event day in front of judges consisting of enterprise representatives and industry experts.
From the shortlisted teams, the judges will select 1 Track Winner for each official track.
Organizer and judge decisions are final.
